# pretext-demos

- Author: Cheng Lou and Pretext contributors
- Source: https://github.com/chenglou/pretext — library from the npm release @chenglou/pretext@1.0.0
  (https://registry.npmjs.org/@chenglou/pretext/-/pretext-1.0.0.tgz)
- Commit: 4a98f37b1e5396a73197f17c13f3128c15d8c17c ("Release 1.0.0"; repo HEAD checked: 0d102a5cd933611e86a7e60bda7b4baa5995c6b0)
- Licence: MIT (./LICENSE from the npm package)
- Vendored files: dist/*.js and dist/generated/*.js (the package's compiled ES modules, unmodified, loaded directly as modules;
  .d.ts files and src/ omitted), package.json, README.md
- Added by Web Curio: stage.html — a host page written by us that only calls the public API
  (`prepareWithSegments()` once, then `layoutNextLine()` per free interval, every frame) to re-flow an article around three
  drifting, draggable orbs on a canvas. The text is the opening of Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" (1865,
  public domain) plus a short note by the Museum (with a Chinese/Arabic line to show mixed scripts). Also this file.
- Why not the original demos: the repo's demos (pages/demos/*.html + .ts — bubbles, dynamic-layout, editorial-engine,
  variable-typographic-ascii, ...) have no published build in the repository and are built with Bun (`bun run site:build`).
  Running that build was not possible in our environment, so they are not included.
- Modifications to the original: none.
